The main transmission system of high-speed CNC machine tools has eliminated pulley transmission and gear transmission. The spindle of the machine tool is directly driven by a built-in electric motor, which shortens the length of the main transmission chain of the machine tool to zero, achieving "zero transmission" of the machine tool. This type of transmission structure combines the spindle motor and machine tool spindle into one, making the spindle components relatively independent from the transmission system and overall structure of the machine tool. Therefore, it can be made into a "spindle unit", commonly known as an "electric spindle".

How to maintain the electric spindle

(1) Operators should use a vacuum cleaner to clean the debris on the rotor end and motor terminal of the electric spindle after work every day to prevent debris from accumulating on the rotor end and terminal, thereby avoiding debris from entering the bearings and accelerating the wear of high-speed bearings; Avoid waste entering the wiring terminals, which may cause the motor to short-circuit and burn out.

(2) When changing the tool of the electric spindle, the operator needs to unscrew the clamp of the pressure cap, and cannot use the method of directly inserting and removing the tool to change the tool. Operators should develop the habit of cleaning the card head and pressure cap thoroughly after removing the cutting blade.

(3) After starting up every day, the operator needs to check the working status of the cooling water flow of the electric spindle, whether the water pump is working properly, whether the cooling water is contaminated by scale and microorganisms, whether the pipeline status is normal, and ensure the normal circulation of the cooling water! Do not start the electric spindle without cooling water passing through it! Only under normal cooling conditions can the electric spindle be in good working condition. If the water pipe has a dead bend, causing poor water flow or blockage by dirt, it will cause the electric spindle to malfunction and affect the machining effect.
